The Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for non-tenure track faculty position at the associate professor of practice or professor of practice levels. The successful applicants will teach primarily at the undergraduate level in support of the development of the undergraduate program; advise and mentor undergraduate students; participate in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession. All positions with professor titles will perform professional service duties in addition to teaching. These positions also may contribute to the teaching of regular graduate courses and special-topic seminars. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Associate professor of practice or professor of practice are appointments applied to individuals selected from the appropriate engineering profession with significant experiences and accomplishments. The candidate’s level of professional experience and impact on the profession will be the primary factors in determining the appropriate rank. Candidates could be leaders from industry, government agencies, or academia. Successful candidates must be willing to interact with faculty and students in a multidisciplinary environment. Applicants must have, at the minimum, an earned bachelor level degree for professor of practice level titles.
