Job Description

Manages the daily operations, communications, project workflow, planning and implementation, recruitment, events, and financial activities of the “Multi-scale Modeling, Simulation, Optimization, and Control” Enabling Technology Area (MMSOC ETA), led by the Texas A&M Energy Institute (TAMU EI), within the Rapid Advancement in Process Intensification Deployment (RAPID) Innovation Institute, led by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). Reports to the Director of TAMU EI and assists in establishing and executing the strategic vision of the MMSOC ETA.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Experience

Seven years of related experience in project management including related supervisory experience.

Preferred Education

Masters or Ph.D. in an engineering or business field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience

Required Experience, plus the following:

At least 3 years of experience in scientific and programmatic grant development, writing, and submission of grant proposals and reports including to federal, local, and private funding agencies. Strongly prefer experience working with the U.S. Department of Energy.
Experience in supervision of staff and students, including experience developing job descriptions, evaluations for hiring, and execution of hiring processes.
Experience with developing and communicating, in written and oral form, detailed and technical scientific and administrative program information to various audiences.
5 years experience working in an academic setting or institution with responsibility for operational organization and execution of multifaceted activities, programs, and grants in a university setting
Experience with interpreting operating policies and procedures, and resolving minor discipline and other employee relations issues within an academic setting or institution.
Experience developing marketing/promotional information within an academic setting or institution.
Able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and have strong time management skills.
Strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work collaboratively in teams.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills required.
Knowledge of word processing: strong scientific and academic research writing skills preferred.
Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships in complex program/organizational settings within the academic setting, in industry, and with governmental agencies and entities.
