Job Description

As a member of a remote learning team, designs, redesigns, develops and maintains high quality, technology-mediated remote learning courses, i.e., inverted/flipped, blended/hybrid, online/distance education, with the college of engineering. Instructional development responsibilities include collaborating with subject matter experts in the planning and managing the design and development of a course; monitoring the course development process to meet project management deadlines; follows quality assurance frameworks and best practices in the design and development process. Identifies and implements innovative technologies to achieve student learning outcomes. The position is expected to explore emerging pedagogically innovative teaching methods and academic technologies to design and conduct trainings on technology and innovative pedagogy/adrogagy trainings for faculty, staff and students. Identify, pilot and implement emerging pedagogically innovative teaching methods and technologies to achieve student learning outcomes. Works with faculty to apply principles of instructional design and integrate appropriate technologies to create pedagogically/androgogically innovative teaching methods for undergraduate and graduate courses. Redesign courses based on quality assessment and best practices when necessary in collaboration with the subject matter experts and other course development team members. Provide one-to-one consulting to develop strategies for course improvement and innovation (including engagement, interactions, simulations, etc.). Serves as expert user of instructional technology applications implemented at the University and within the college of engineering, .e., learning management system (LMS) web conferencing platforms, audience response systems, online homework platforms, and learning analytic systems. Designs and conducts technology and pedagogy/andragogy trainings for faculty professional development. Creates faculty online resources and documentation for just-in-time support. Provides technical and instructional support for academic technologies that enhance remote learning courses and activities. Serves as top level support for eCampus in the college.
Participates in committees and assists with special events/projects as needed and other duties as assigned.
