Job Description

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct research in the area of plasma assisted ignition and turbulent combustion. Candidate must have a strong background and training in combustion sciences, fluid mechanics, plasma science and computations to conduct research related to the plasma discharges interaction with reacting media for the improvement of existing codes and development of new codes. Key functions of this role include- support the ongoing research and development of the codes on the ignition and combustion supported by nanosecond pulsed, laser and microwave discharges.

PhD in a Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering

Preferred Experience

Parallel programming, MPI.

Strong background and training in fluid mechanics, plasma physics, combustion sciences and a demonstrated accomplishment in numerical modeling.

Proficiency in Fortran or C/C++ and Understanding of they physics and chemistry of combustion + Understanding of the physics of plasma discharges.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; A working style, demonstrating initiative and individual responsibility.
