Job Description

The ZEEC Technical Laboratory Coordinator (TLC) provides technical supervision to multiple undergraduate teaching and design laboratories within the Zachry Engineering Education Complex (ZECC). This involves interacting with multiple departmental course instructors on planning and execution of laboratory activities, and coordinating the daily laboratory activities including: operations and scheduling of instructional programs, general procedures for safety, inspections, and maintenance.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Experience

Three years of related experience in laboratory operations.

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science

Preferred Experience

Two years of related supervisory experience.
Experience in Engineering preferred.
Working knowledge of standard office equipment, microcomputers, and mainframe environments, as well as standard laboratory equipment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
The position requires strong ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Familiarity with laboratory integrated management systems (LIMS) is a preferred qualification.
